Palm vaults has been named as one of the 'most instagrammable cafes' in London, and it's easy to see why! This independent coffee shop is located in Hackney and has very much become a destination cafe, I think I visited on one of the busiest weekends when you couldn't book, but now they have a booking system for weekends and bank holidays. I ended up getting a takeaway, but still got a good look inside whilst queuing!
The first thing you notice upon arriving at the cafe is the fabulous shop sign designed and painted by Alex May Huges for Brilliant Signs. Inside sign writer Daisy Emerson has painted a lovely logo with the brand colours of pastel pinked, mint green an gold . The interior is filled with lush hanging ferns in pink macrame nets. Pink velvet and wicker seats and marble tables fill the space with an exposed brick wall providing the backdrop, even the pretty pink cakes and takeaway cups were co-ordinated. The opal and brass pendant lights added to the retro Miami feel..
I opted for the Golden tonic latte, a ginger and Turmeric drink made with almond milk, where as my friend got one of the prettiest smoothies I've ever seen! Both were delicious and healthy.
Needless to say, I am already planning another visit so i can enjoy sitting in this time and trying some of the food. As I've mentioned before supporting independent business is crucial in keeping our high streets more diverse and preventing chains taking over.
