Gubi are one of those companies who produce modern timeless classics which can fit in with so many different style interiors. Two of my favourite pieces are the 9602 Floor lamp + the Pacha Lounge chair.
The 9602 Floor Lamp, also known as “Chinese Hat” was designed by Paavo Tynell in 1935 for the Hotel Aulanko. It looks like it could have been designed yesterday! With its elegant lampshade + rattan-covered stem, the 9602 Floor Lamp creates a gentle ambient light perfect for a residential living room.
The Pacha Chair was designed by the French designer Pierre Paulin in 1975. Looking as contemporary today as when it first was designed, the Pacha Chair is an cozy, functional piece that a focal point + character to any interior setting. Paulin designed the chair with comfort being key, he replaced the austerity of post-war design with a new, individual approach.
GUBI is a design company dedicated to celebrating the luxury of living life. Designs that combine the past and the present for the new to evolve. Designs that stimulate the senses, are beautiful yet usable. GUBI is pursuing perfection with passion and courage. Evolution is the essence.
